Physician Primary Care Section Lead

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordination of the clinical care of all patients at the CAVHS while working in collaboration with Primary Care Clinic, Specialty Clinics and others in the care of patients. - Facilitate communication among patients and their families, within external and internal stakeholders to include outside primary care physicians, hospitalists, and specialists/subspecialists. - Assist CAVHS Leadership with outreach to both external and internal stakeholders. - Represent CAVHS leadership with visitors, regulatory audits and EOC rounds. -Oversee and coordinate process improvement initiatives, assuring teamwork and addressing customer service issues in the clinic. - Provide patient care in accordance with professional standards, core values and commitment to excellent service. - Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the primary care clinics including Women's Clinic and the Health Promotion Disease Prevention (HPDP) Program, to include provider supervision, monitor PACT, regular assessment of building function for safety and effectiveness and facilitation of necessary corrective actions. - Direct and lead PACT to ensure that CAVHS goals and benchmark for integrated care delivery are met. - Develop and administer a formal, systematic performance plan for reviewing, appraising and continuously improving each phase of clinical, clinical support, and administrative activity, assuring services provided by CAVHS meet the accrediting standards and VHA Directives and policies. - Participate in the hiring of new primary care physicians and other providers/staff; oversee the quality of care and performance of primary care providers. Ensure institutional benchmarks are met for appropriate provider coverage, workload, efficiency, productivity, and patient access. - Approve leave, develop and monitor competencies, prepare performance evaluations, personnel and disciplinary actions along with performing other duties as assigned. - Maintain competencies, credentials and privileges associated with his/her medical license(s) and residency program(s). Required to maintain primary care privileges, BLS, and provide clinical care as required. - May be required to work some evenings and weekends in outreach activities representing leadership. - Actively lead and participate in meetings with stakeholders. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is desired. If selected for this position, per VHA Directive 1177, you must possess current BCLS certification as you will provide direct clinical care to patients in this position. Reference:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
