Purpose:
Provides insightful operational and financial information to plant and division leadership. While this position reports to the Plant Finance Manager, it is expected the incumbent will work with leaders across all function areas to provide relevant and timely financial information to aid and support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Performs month-end close activities and works with accounting personnel across the BNA organization.
Develops and creates reports using Data3 and Business Warehouse to allow management to interpret monthly activities and results.
Provides operations with the analysis of plant costs and the calculation of inventory standards.
Analyzes operating and financial results to identify trends and activities driving those results; makes recommendations on potential changes, both operational and financial in nature, to improve performance.
Provides operations with analysis of information to be used for procedural improvement opportunities.
Supports audit process with fluctuation analysis.
Conducts special projects involving financial analysis or interpretation of data and trends wherever needed in support of finance, sales, marketing and operations.
Member of the WCOM process, participates on teams and provides data.
Regular work attendance; attendance at employee meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Contacts:
Internal: Daily contact with site Accounting Group. Works closely with Plant Finance Manager, Plant Operations Manager and department leadership.
External:Contact with Bemis North Ameriac Regional Finance Manager-Data3 and Accounting personnel from other BNA locations. Occasional contact with internal and external auditors.
Responsibility:
Contribute to the department/plant/division continuous improvement efforts through the effective management of resources.
Exhibit strong safety advocacy; follow all location safety rules.
Follow in principle any plant or division mission statement.
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor''s Degree in Accounting with 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
MBA or CPA, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum three to five years accounting experience within a manufacturing industry or firm.
Skills & Abilities Needed
Requirements:
Full working knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L), balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
Experience with Data3 functionality including cost accounting.
Experience in inventory valuation within a standard costing environment.
Self-starter who is approachable and comfortable working with personnel across all disciplines.
Strong presentation skills for the presentation of data and to assist with the training of plant personnel.
Ability to identify areas of opportunity and to initiate process improvement.
Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.
Flexible with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Experience with month-end close procedures.
Experience with SAP
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Financial modeling and analysis experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk and sit on a regular basis.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
Ability to communicate clearly and to use the telephone frequently.
Ability to use a 10-key calculator.
Limited (less than 10%25) overnight travel may be required,
Some lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
Spends approximately 10%25%20of time walking or standing in production areas. These areas may be subject to noise, odor and environmental conditions that are common in a manufacturing environment.
Must be willing and able to work hours necessary to fulfill the needs of the job. Overtime work and occasional weekend and/or holiday work may be required.
Other:
Mandatory use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) earplugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, hairnet while in or walking through production areas of the plant.
Noise exposure typically minimal while in the office area and
moderate to loud while in the production areas of the plant.
